Karter Kenis
Karter’s interest in financial planning began with his own family’s experience. His great-grandparents worked with a financial planner and made thoughtful financial decisions that created opportunities for the generations that followed. Seeing the impact those decisions had on his own life gave Karter an appreciation for the importance of planning ahead and was a major reason he chose to pursue a career in financial planning.
Karter studied Consumer Affairs – Family Financial Management at South Dakota State University, where he developed a broad understanding of financial planning and the different areas that can affect an individual or family’s financial future. His education, combined with his experiences working with people in sales and financial services, helped shape his approach to financial planning.
Karter enjoys getting to know people and learning about what is important to them. He believes financial planning should be personal and should reflect each individual’s goals, priorities, and circumstances. His goal is to help clients better understand their options and feel more confident as they make decisions throughout different stages of life.
Outside of work, Karter enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends. He enjoys traveling and visiting national parks, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Music has also been an important part of his life, and Karter enjoys playing guitar.
Karter values relationships, time with the people closest to him, and the experiences that make life meaningful. He brings that same perspective to financial planning, believing that financial decisions are ultimately about helping people build and enjoy the life they want.
